Dr. Sue Dorland, is a 1993 graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph. Sue grew up in rural Ontario on a small family farm where she developed an early respect and love for all animals. Sue has spent her entire veterinary career practicing at Oshawa Animal Hospital. She thoroughly enjoys her role as both a veterinarian and a practice owner. She describes her job as the ‘best job in the world’. She strives each day to make Oshawa Animal Hospital the practice of choice for pet families in Durham Region.
Every day she is grateful to work with her wonderful team and has been fortunate to have attracted some of the most talented and compassionate team members. Together they focus on providing the best medical care and client service possible. Sue enjoys giving back to her local community as well as the veterinary community. Sue has been a committee member for the local Chamber of Commerce and she has helped with the set-up of the Durham Region Spay Neuter Assistance Program (DRSNAP) working with the Humane Society and other local veterinarians. She is a past president of the Ontario Veterinary College Alumni Association and is an active member of the South Durham Region Veterinary Association. She also spent several years as a member of the OVMA (Ontario Veterinary Medical Association) Conference Committee and has recently been elected to the Board of Directors.
Feeling the tug to move back to the country, she and her partner Ian now enjoy living on a small farm where they share their life with their horses and their beloved Australian Cattle Dog, Jack.
